“Do what you love, be persistent and don't give up.”

What area are you specializing in within Visual Communications? Photography

What inspired you to pursue a career in Visual Communications? My children. They were the inspiration I needed to decide to pursue this career and achieve it.

What is/was your favorite class and why?
I love all my classes but the most interesting for me was Portraiture and Commercial Photography. I like working in the studio where I can manipulate light in order to achieve what I need in my photographs.

Who is your favorite artist and why?
My favorite artist is Frida Kahlo who was a Mexican painter. She mostly painted self-portraits. I love how she shows and interprets Mexican culture through her paintings.

What high school did you attend and if appropriate what kinds of classes prepared you for success in Visual Communications?
The first two years of high school I did them in Mexico and the last two years I went to Goshen High School. I can say the last two years in high school helped me learn English which I needed to achieve my goal. It was a difficult path but I’m always continuing to learn.

What is your favorite Adobe Application and how is it used?
My favorite Adobe application is Photoshop. I use it to enhance my photographs if they need it.

When will you graduate? What do you plan to do after graduation?
I will graduate May, 2018. After graduation I plan to begin to establish my career as a portrait photographer.

Do you have any advice for your fellow designers/artists? Life Quote?  Do what you love, be persistent and don’t give up.
